Abalone is the largest island of the Wavecrest Archipelago, holding the capital of [[Seahaven]], the cities of [[Gateway]], [[Gullwing]] and [[Diver's Joy]] as well as the [[Black Temple]]. The eastern coast of Abalone was struck during Calibration 779 by a tsunami. The cause of this tsunami is unknown to the general public, but [[Azizah]] and [[Sunset Water]] along with the Solars of the Wavecrest Archipelago know; it was the result of a geomantic engineering accident that occurred during [[Pika]]'s work to raise [[Saigoth]] back above the waves.
