Macuy hails from the United Cities of Thalos, a league of various city-states. He was born as the third son of a merchant family.

As tradition demanded, he was admitted as an acolyte in the Order of the Sacred Fire at a young age, one of the few influential religious orders in the UCT.

The Order offers a proper education and teaches her followers to keep vigil at the Sacred Fire, dedicated to keeping the "Realms of Chaos" at bay. Generally, members of the Order are known to be fair and composed and are held in good standing.

As he grew older, Macuy was discovered to have an aptitude for the Force.

His teacher as well as the Grandmaster had already noticed the signs and had preemptively contacted the Jedi Order. Upon his subsequent acceptance in the Jedi Order as Padawan, Macuy was granted extraordinary leave from the Order with the position of Elder.

Even though was he already accustomed to the particulars of life within an Order, it took some time for Macuy to adjust to his new life with the Jedi. As part of his morning routine, he still keeps an occasional vigil.
