After contact was lost with the XR-17-E mining operation in the Ducleron System and a rescue team went missing the Jedi were requested to investigate.

Padawan Avitus and Padawan Kial Valian were sent to investigate. The Rustbucket II took them the last part of the way, the initial journey to the system being done by the Alula.

Docking with the station the two Jedi boarded the mining station. Shortly after entering they lost contact with the Rustbucket due to communications jamming.

Finding a terminal the Jedi found out the power-core of the station was running at 112% while life support was operating at minimum levels. Kial Valian interpreted this as the stations power-core slowly going into overload. She and Avitus headed for the power-core immediately.

On their way they found the remains of a human male that worked on the station. He had been impaled multiple times.

Continuing towards the power-core the Jedi were attacked by a mining droid. After disabling it they determined the berserk droid was being remotely controlled from the power-core.

Reaching the power-core the Jedi were attacked again by the mining stations central computer, using an automated defence turret. Disabling the turret, they shut down the main power-core. This also re-established communications and brought the situation to an end.
