His sandy blond hair and short beard often bore streaks of frost, and his sharp green eyes were said to carry the gleam of insatiable curiosity. He typically dressed in practical, fur-lined gear, laden with tools of his trade: compasses, rolled maps, and a journal bound in weathered leather. His signature item was the Frostglass Sextant, a unique instrument he claimed could read the movements of the shifting glaciers, which was lost along with him. ==== Personality ==== Arctis was bold, resourceful, and charismatic, known for his relentless determination to uncover the tundra’s secrets. While his charm made him a popular figure in Frosthaven, his obsession with mapping the Glacial Labyrinth often led him to take reckless risks. Despite his ambition, Arctis was genuinely passionate about helping others navigate the treacherous tundra and shared his discoveries freely. However, his single-minded focus sometimes strained relationships with friends and colleagues who disappearedworried for his safety. ==== History ==== Born in the LabyrinthFrosthaven to a family of merchants, Arctis always felt drawn to the tundra’s mysteries. He abandoned his family’s trade to pursue cartography, quickly earning a reputation for his meticulous maps and daring expeditions. Arctis made his mark by charting previously unexplored regions of the Shard Sea and providing safe routes for travelers. His maps, found in fragments, are highly sought after by adventurercrowning ambition, however, was to fully map the Glacial Labyrinth, a feat no one had achieved due to its ever-shifting nature. Fifteen years ago, Arctis embarked on an ambitious solo expedition into the Labyrinth, seeking to uncover its rumored Everfrost Chamber. He vanished without a trace, leaving behind fragmented notes and incomplete maps that have since become prized relics.
