Glacier’s Edge

Old version of removed Glacier’s Edge

The Outpost at the World’s End

Glacier’s Edge is a remote, wind-battered settlement built on the sheer cliffs overlooking the Sea of Shards, a frozen expanse of jagged icebergs and tumultuous waters. Known as the "Last Outpost," it is the most isolated inhabited place in the world, serving as a gateway for daring adventurers, explorers, and seafarers seeking to venture into the uncharted northern reaches.

The outpost is a rugged, utilitarian settlement, with structures made from salvaged wood, whale bone, and reinforced ice. Despite its harsh conditions, it is a hub for explorers, traders, and treasure seekers drawn by rumors of lost civilizations and mythical treasures hidden beneath the ice.

The Driftwood Docks:

A precarious series of piers extending into the frigid waters, used by icebreaker ships and fishing vessels. These docks are constantly at risk of destruction from shifting ice floes and the violent sea.

The Frostspire Inn:

A cozy, multi-story inn carved into a natural ice cavern, serving as a gathering place for travelers. It’s famous for its strong Frostfire Mead, brewed to keep drinkers warm even in the coldest nights.

The Warden’s Post:

The administrative center and command post of Glacier’s Edge, where the Icewardens—a small but disciplined militia—coordinate defense and keep order.

The Bone Market:

A bustling trade square where merchants sell exotic goods such as carved whale bones, ice-fishing equipment, enchanted trinkets, and maps of the Sea of Shards.

The Lighthouse of Echoes:

An ancient structure at the edge of the cliffs, said to guide lost souls as well as ships. Its light is powered by an arcane crystal that shines brightly even in blizzards.

The Icebreaker Guildhall:

Headquarters for the fearless mariners who navigate the frozen seas, offering services such as passage, escorts, and retrieval missions for adventurers.

The Shardspire Chapel:

A small temple dedicated to Auryn the Veiled One, patron of wanderers and those who brave the unknown. Pilgrims leave offerings here to ensure safe passage through the treacherous ice.
