— The Labyrinth Keeper

Age: Unknown (believed to be ageless)

Race: Unknown (appears humanoid)

Occupation: Guardian of the Glacial Labyrinth

Physical Description

The Labyrinth Keeper is a mysterious figure, cloaked in robes of shimmering frost and flowing shadow. Their face is obscured by an intricately carved mask of ice, etched with runes that seem to shift and glow faintly in the light. Their tall, slender frame moves with an unnatural grace, and a faint aura of cold emanates from their presence.

Their staff, Labyrintheon, is made of crystalline ice, its head shaped into a twisting spiral that resembles the maze they protect. The Keeper’s voice, rarely heard, carries an echoing, ethereal tone that seems to come from everywhere and nowhere at once.

Personality

The Labyrinth Keeper is enigmatic and detached, driven solely by their duty to protect the Glacial Labyrinth and its secrets. They seem impartial, neither aiding nor hindering those who enter the maze unless its balance is threatened.

Their actions are deliberate, their motives inscrutable, and their demeanor calm and commanding. Though they show no overt hostility, their mere presence can be deeply unsettling to those who encounter them. Despite their aloofness, there are moments where the Keeper’s words suggest a deeper understanding of the labyrinth’s purpose and the tundra’s fate.

History

The origins of the Labyrinth Keeper are unknown, and their existence is as much myth as fact. Some believe they were once a mortal who became bound to the Labyrinth through a curse or a pact with the primal forces of the tundra. Others claim the Keeper is an extension of the Labyrinth itself, a living embodiment of its will.

Legends tell of the Keeper appearing throughout history, guiding some through the maze while barring others from its depths. Their true purpose remains a mystery, though their presence is always tied to moments of great upheaval in the tundra, particularly those involving the Howling Abyss or disturbances in the Labyrinth’s magic.
