At the 1992 beltain ball Elisabeth-Maria asked the Nightmare Queen to reassemble him. Because some parts of him, such as his torso, were still missing, the queen used nearby clocks to craft him a new one, not wanting to send her ambassador away empty-handed. In the hedge, he clearly has a clock work torso and right leg, with his the rest of his limbs and head attached.

After leaving the Hedge, his appearance changed so he seems made of flesh and blood. But his heartbeat has been replaced by the rhythmic ticking of clockwork when listening closely.
