Table of Contents
This namespace lists the rules that apply for the Five Boroughs campaign.
Basics
- We use the 4R rules
- 3R's Activity Based Willpower Nature and Demeanour listing is used for for the Willpower regain rules.
Disciplines
This is the list of currently available disciplines for characters. Note that other supernatural powers might also be represented in the rules as disciplines, even though they are not disciplines in the sense that they are granted by the embrace.
Visit a discipline's page to see which characters are known trainers for said discipline, as well as rulings related to the discipline.
Training
For the Five Boroughs campaign, a 'period' of training, as used in the rules, is defined as 2 parts of the night.
Additionally, we have this campaign has the following special requirement for the training of a Discipline:
Disciplines
Taste of Blood: A character must have partaken of the vitae of someone who has mastered at least seven different powers within the Discipline. This is often cited as the reason some Kindred call distinct powers "gifts of the blood".
This requirement is automatically considered satisfied for all bloodline disciplines. Note that the vitae of any character who qualifies as a trainer for the discipline automatically meets the criteria for the Taste of Blood.
Hunting
We follow the 3R Hunting rules from the with the following changes:
Hunting takes one part of the night, The vampire will gain 1 blood point per success on the rollIt is possible to hunt for a specific victim or specific kind of victim (note that the Ventrue flaw is accommodated in the above abstraction). This will require specific checks for the situation.
It is explicitly allowed to, length of the night allowing, take multiple hunts in a night.
Part of the Night
A night has as many parts of the night as there are full 3-hour blocks in it. This means that at night of 9 hours 44 minutes has 3 parts, whereas a night of 7 hours 3 minutes has 2.
The part of the night concept is mostly relevant for Hunting and Training, and offers some guidelines as to what a character can do in that night. It is not meant as a strict division of the night into parts, where every activity takes up one or more parts. For example, in a night of 7 hours it is still possible to hunt for 1 part, train for 1 part and visit Elysium for about an hour.
