Fundraiser Gala
Christine and I agreed we'd organize a fundraiser gala for the School of American Ballet (Session 104)! At ballet class, I heard rumours someone else may be organizing a similar event with a performance (Session 106) but I soon learned that Christine was the one who spread word in preparation of the event. I best get started, I suppose (Session 107)! I discussed the gala at the Rotary, as a sort of pre-announcement (Session 109), and spoke with the person in charge at the School of American Ballet. They want me to bring my guardian - fortunately, the prince agreed (Session 110). I held a brainstorm session with Carol and Tamara about the Gala (Session 111) and working out ideas (Session 112).
The prince finally came with me to the School of American Ballet and got them to agree to the event! (Session 113) Gabriella agreed to help and I'm very popular with the girls now that I'm involved (Session 114), but I really need to pick the right ballet (Session 115) - we eventually decided on the Firebird, which has 13 princesses in it (Session 116).
To arrange a location, I visited the Met with Lindsey, but we failed to even get an audience with the director. I might have an in via my friends at the Rotary though (Session 117).
The girls at my ballet class are starting to get restless and the teacher insisted so I had to promise them to give more information on Monday once I have spoken to my friends at the Rotary. Good news though as Cierra promised to attend the performance (Session 126)!
Kimberly took me to meet her uncle who promised he'd try to arrange the Met for me - it's gonna be tight though, I sort of promised an answer for the girls in my class tomorrow (Session 127). Fortunately, Kimberly's uncle came through with a spot in the Met for April 11th! Auditions were held almost immediately and Gabriella got an understudy spot while two other friends of mine both got roles (Session 128)! We've been practicing a lot together, though here remains a lot of chaos at class. I was also asked about who would attend, and I dropped a few hints (Session 129).
The training has been brutal and we have been having drop outs already, the teacher even limiting training amounts. I invited the entire kindred community at Elysium too (Session 130).
I visited several clubs with Christine to invite important people. Later at Elysium, I asked Jacqueline for help, she said she'd speak to me later though in the meanwhile it turned out Pancake also knows a lot of people. I'm hoping to get the Mayor and Governor to come (Session 131). I invited more people to the Fundraiser performance at the next Elysium. Fortunately, Christine knew what the deal was regarding tickets! (Session 132)
During rehearsals, I managed to make a good impression, getting praise from the teacher and making a positive impression on the other girls who appreciated me not competing for roles. I think I made a rival though. I did manage to invite my friends from Yoga though (Session 134).
I called Pancake to make sure she'd come, as well as many others. Fortunately, everyone came and despite some rude people I was able to help backstage. Eventually I took Gabriella to see the Prince and we watched the show together - it was wonderful were it not for the freak accidents that kept happening! I was pretty upset about those, but the show went on and did not get cancelled, luckily (Session 135).
Despite the interruptions, the gala was otherwise a huge success and I spent the entire evening talking to people, thanking donors and introducing everyone to everyone. I think I did a good thing (Session 136)!
