Setting a page synopsis
Depending on how the campaign is set up, only certain roles may be able to edit a page to set a synopsis. Even with these settings, certain pages may still be locked to specific players.
When creating or editing a page, it is possible to set a Synopsis for the page. The synopsis is used as a short summary to describe the content of the page when searching or in lists, and can help players find the relevant content more quickly during play.
It is not necessary to set a Synopsis for every page. As a general guideline, if you are including the page in a list it is usually worthwhile to add one. It is usually good to add one if the page uses a schema, or if the page long.
Tips for writing a good synopsis
- Limit yourself to one sentence of somewhere between five and twenty words
- Avoid using the page title in the synopsis, as it will usually be visible with the synopsis itself
- Try to describe the most essential key elements of the topic the page covers
- You can use text formatting in the synopsis
