Wiki Start Page
Depending on how the campaign is set up, only certain roles may be able to create a start page. Even with these settings, certain pages may still be locked to specific players.
The 'start' page is the wiki page that you are taken to it when clicking the menu button for one of the three namespaces (Setting, Rules and Notes). Like other wiki pages, you can edit it to contain whatever content you like.
Since the start page is the landing page for your wiki, it is often useful to provide some navigation options here, though the details will depend on the content of your wiki.
Special: if you remove the start page entirely, you will instead be taken to the index page for the wiki.
Suggestions for content of the start page
For the Setting namespace it may be useful to use the start page as a generic description of the setting, in the same way you would describe it to someone unfamiliar with the game. In the description, you can link to relevant pages like the city or planet on which the story takes place, the main antagonist and the mystic object / alien artifact / dangerous information that started the adventure.
You can enhance this by providing some useful lists, like a list of the noble houses players interact with or a list of worlds players may hail from.
For the Rules namespace, the start page is an ideal location to list the books that may be used, perhaps a list of houserules, and a link to the character creation page.
The Notes namespace finally might benefit from a list of open proposals being discussed, or a link to the log each player keeps.
As a general rule, if a page is likely to be visited or updated very often, it probably deserves a place in the start page!
Changing the title of the start page
By default, the title of the start page is set to 'Start'. To change the title, but keep the page as the start page for the namespace, you must set the Real Name of the page to Start and edit the title. For more details on the real name and how to change it, see the names help page.
