Little Hell, actually called Goose Island, is an island formed by the North Branch of the Chicago River on the west and the North Branch Canal on the east. The island features the [[People's Gas, Light & Coke Co]] and provides power for many of the industrial plants in the area, and features a railroad, eleven coal yards and two grain elevators. The smoke produced by the plants makes the area difficult to breathe in, and combined with the flames of burn off from various plants earn it the name 'Little Hell' by the residents. Little Hell features a high amount of street crime and parts are currently contested between the [[North Side Gang]] and [[South Side Gang]], with the [[Ryba Clan]] also claiming territory there.
