The Whalers are a group of mostly eastern European fishermen, based in [[Chicago]] who fish on [[Lake Michigan]]. Most of their income though is not from fishing, but from rum-running, smuggling alcohol into the United States from Canada. The gang is led by [[Polak Saltis]] and the gang is a major supplier and ally of the [[North Side Gang]] ==== Supernatural Connections ==== The Whalers appear to have a connection to supernatural creatures living in Lake Michigan and the other Great Lakes and this connection is said to be the reason they are able to maintain their monopoly on water-based rum running.
