Notes

The Notes wiki or 'namespace' serves as a place to keep notes on all sorts of matters which does not fit on the Setting or Rules namespace, and can be used by all players, storyteller included, for their respective purposes.

This help page describes how to use the Notes wiki effectively and proposes some different uses. To learn the technical aspects of how to create and edit pages, see the 'basics' section in the Wiki Help Index.

Player notekeeping

As the name suggests, the Notes namespace is ideal for player notekeeping. This includes such things as tracking quests, writing lists of prepared spells, listing what abilities to take next level, etc.

Some players may want to keep logs or diaries for their character. Rather than growing the setting page of their character to extraordinary length, the notes namespace offers a convenient way which can easily be referenced from the character page.

If you have an idea for a new spell, power or other ability that isn't listed in the core book, you can design one in the Notes namespace, as a proposal for your Storyteller. Once approved, they can then move it to the Rules namespace

Storyteller notekeeping

The Notes namespace is also great for storyteller. They can write up rule proposals, track player requests that need to be responded to, make notes about pages that need to be created for NPCs the players encountered, and list things players have done for future reference.

Note however, that since the notes namespace is visible to everyone, secret DM information should not be listed in the notes namespace!

Extra Tips

  • The Notes namespace is also very useful for OOC notekeeping: like who's turn it is to buy snacks!
  • When you add a new rule in the notes namespace that you want to discuss with the storyteller or other players, also create a forum topic and link back and forth - the wiki is ideal to track changes to a proposal over time, but the forum is best for discussions!
  • Avoid secret DM notes on the Notes wiki - players are able to read these pages!
