Changelog 2020-08-07

This week we worked on many unrelated issues, fixing things left and right, as well as further improvements to Pathfinder system support. In this week's blog post Fixing Things 4, we go into detail about two of the things we fixed.

Account Profile

  • Split the updating of your account profile, password, and email address into three separate actions. While still on the same page, they are now separated out to clarify what actions changes what (and to assist password-managers in their task).
  • It is now possible to clear your profile avatar back to the empty default.

Permissions

  • It is now possible to select the Operator role for character sheet administrators. This allows you to better divide up responsibilities.
  • It is now possible to configure who have access to the chat's Full Archive. This is configurable under Player Permissions in the campaign configuration, and defaults to only allowing Operators to do so, due to the potentially invasive nature of being able to read all chat messages.

Pathfinder

  • (Community Suggestion) Added Concentration checks to the spellcasting/manifesting section of the caster classes on the character sheet.
  • Shortened the name of caster level checks and concentration checks if a character has only a single caster class. This improves readability for the dice roller and dice rolls for a lot of characters.
  • Updated the character sheet's languages field to have to autocomplete from the languages configured in the game system configuration. This makes it so that every player is free to write additional details, but the autocompletion helps to ensure that people use the same names.
  • The name of equipment on the character sheet has been switched from plain text to formatted text. This helps to keep track of unique equipment, as well as allowing you to add a link in the name field if you want.
  • Several fields in the Equipment configuration have been updated to only allow whole numbers (such as the AC bonus). This makes the fields match how they are used in calculations elsewhere.
  • Class Variants have been renamed to Archetypes. This aligns the used fields with the terminology used by the Advanced Players Guide.
  • Caster classes in the game system configuration can now be configured to choose special magic options such as bloodlines or domains. The options and their details can be configred in the new magic tab.
  • The new configurable special magic options now also allow Clerics to get domain spells per day and specialist Wizards get their bonus spell slots, as well as bonus class skills that are automatically granted.
  • Traits now list which category they belong to on the character sheet and in the list of autocomplete suggestions. This makes it easier to see if your traits come from different categories, which helps with keeping the sheet in line with the campaign's rules.
  • Added a Manual Bonus Summary to the character sheet's quick checks to summarize what manual bonusses have been entered on the sheet. This helps when reviewing the sheet for approval, because most of the information is available at a glance.
  • Added checks for extreme values on many different manual bonusses. This helps to highlight, for example, a typo causing a +20 Enhancement bonus to Strength as being unexpectedly high.
  • Made several performance improvements to the character sheet. This will make the sheet a little more responsive overall, making it quicker and easier to update your character.
  • Improved the layout of the character sheet on narrow screens.
  • Made various small usability and UI improvements to the game system configuration such as properly sorting various lists, better progression through the fields with the enter key and widened input fields.

Dice Roller

  • (Community Suggestion) Pathfinder concentration checks have been added to the dice roller. This makes all RPGpad-supported casting checks available in the dice roller. Note that any damage rolls required for spells can be rolled via the custom face values roll for the caster character.
  • The display of D3 game system rolls have been streamlined for the case where they do not have any applicable specializations or a disadvantage.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed a display issues where system messages about getting additional roles in a campaign did not have a space between the roles and the word 'and'. This has been fixed, and the title is properly written again.
  • Fixed a bug that caused an empty spot to appear on the front page of campaigns that have announcements that you are not allowed to see (because you are not a member, for example). This has been fixed, and no longer shows an empty spot.
  • Fixed a bug that cause certain freeform rolls in the dice roller to not be accepted by RPGpad. This has been fixed, and all freeform rolls are now accepted again.
  • Fixed a bug that caused certain image to stretch the image preview in the room edit screen. This has been fixed, and images will now stay square at all times.
  • (Community Report) Fixed a bug in the pathfinder sheet that caused it to fail when attempting to edit the sheet in Safari 9. This has been fixed, and the sheet can now be edited again in Safari 9.
  • Fixed a bug in the world of darkness sheet that prevented it from working when attempting to edit the sheet in Safari 9. This has been fixed, and the sheet can now be editted again in Safari 9.
  • Fixed a minor bug on the Pathfinder character sheet where the ability bonus in Base Save DC was not properly capitalized.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the Oxford comma list function to concatenate the word "and" to the last item in the title of certain system messages. This was caused by an external templating library.
  • Fixed a bug in the Pathfinder character sheet which caused recalculation of the sheet setting to abort when entering multiple bonusses on a combat stat.
  • Fixed a bug where in a completely new Pathfinder campaign (and only there), character sheets would post a notice for missing skill specializations on skills that don't normally have specializations.
