Changelog 2018-07-20

This week's changelog brings a lot of changes to the Recent Activity pages, the fix for a nasty bug that has been plaguing Chrome and Safari users, and improvements to character sheets!

Please keep telling us about anything that doesn't work as you'd expect it to do ('cause then we know, and that's half the battle).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed nasty bug with images that weren't displayed correctly. Things should be in working order again! If you spot an image that shows a "broken image" symbol, do let us know!

Recent Activity

  • Added a Recent Activity for the whole campaign. This activity listing can be accessed via the "Recent Activity" button in the campaign home.
  • Greatly improve recent activity readability by showing the actual action that was taken, in addition to the player's change summary.
  • Improved loading speed of Recent Activity pages by only showing the 50 most recent changes. An added link at the bottom of the page allows you to look further back in the history.
  • Made recent activity views more navigable by adding a navigation bar that you can use to narrow and widen the activity view.
  • Implemented RSS Feeds for each recent activity view. You can use these to get notifications of activity by either using a dedicated RSS reader, subscribing to the feed with most email clients, or getting a Feed Reader app on your phone or tablet!
  • Fixed ordering of campaign creation changes in the recent activity log. Campaign creation is so fast that all campaign initialization activity is effectively done at the same time, and the recent activity log can now handle that!

Character Sheets

  • Character sheets can now have a link to the related setting page, to more easily find the backstory and setting information. You might have to add the link manually if it does not automatically appear.
  • Scaled dots and boxes on character Vampire: the Masquerade sheets to look better with the font.
  • Made linking from character sheets to the rules namespace easier. All notes, and other large text fields on your character sheets now link to the rules namespace by default, making it easier to link to house rules and homebrew things.
  • You now have the option of adding a change summary when editing your character sheet. This allows tracking of changes with a little more context, such as "Leveled up", or "Updates for session 43".
  • The "Character does not exist" page now correctly links removed character to their history, instead of not linking them at all.
  • Fixed links to edited characters in the recent activity view to point to the correct version of that character, instead of always linking to the most recent version. This now mirrors the way wikipages are linked in recent activity views.

Other

  • Added an optional edit reason field when you edit a forum post. This is especially helpful when you made a an error and want to tell others what is going on with your edit. If you fill in a reason here, the post will get a subtle "Edit by" marker at the bottom showing your edit reason.
  • Image uploads now accept SVG images as well. Scalable Vector Graphics allow you to upload logo's and drawings that remain sharp and crisp no matter how or where they are displayed.
  • The forum thread name suggestions are now a little smarter.
