character creation

You are making the child of one of the gods in the pantheon. Because of the setting and how things work, we are starting at level 1, using the core book, and Ghestalt characters. The system is set up to pick a level 1 class 2 times and take the best of both worlds for a new level 1 class. You can be a Fighter, Monk, A Barbarian Wizard, a Rogue Cleric. As long as you meet the requirements for the class and spell casting capabilities, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Being the child of a god, you are also permitted one heirloom item that is gifted to you by your patron or matron deity. This item can be any magic item in the book that is equal to, or less than 15,000gpv. This must be spent on a singular item, unless, and only unless it makes perfect sense for the items to be given in a pairing, Example would be a Sword & Shield, or a dagger and special sheath. As long as you can provide a compelling argument as to why the pairing is logical (Which should be obvious and not grasping at straws) then it will be permitted, so long as the total GPV of the items does not exceed the 15,000 value.

These items are not static, however, they are meant to travel with you throughout your journeys and be a defining item(s) that you use, think Hercules' bracers, or Xena's Chakram. Achiles' boots, etc. So because of this, your item's power level will increase to keep in line with your level. So if you start with a +3 sword, that sword will remain +3 until level 12, where it will magically (And free of cost) Increase to a +4, and finally at level 16 to a +5. This is identical if you take a +1 Sword, +1 Shield and +1 suit of armor. At level 4 they will all increase to +2, Then 8 to +3, then 12 to +4, and finally 16 to +5. These items should see you through to level-cap. You can, and are encourage however to further enchant your gear with things such as Keen, or Fortitude, you can enchant up to +5 special enchantments (Non-Numerical enchantments) on your heirlooms.

Nobility and Higher-class Citizens

You may play someone who is part of a noble class of citizen. This can include nobles, High Priest/Priestess, and anything short of royalty. You can also choose to play a child, or grandchild of a stationed hero of Greece. Because of the timeframe, decendants of the heroes are still roaming around. So being for example a grandchild of Hercules, would still place your patron Deity as Zeus. Being a decendant of Percius will still place your Patron Deity as Poseidon.

Children of Nobility however, get no special starting bonus' in any monitary form. They do however get a +2 circumstance modifier to Diplomacy, Bluff, and Intimidate when dealing with members of their family, and the city they are a part of.
