NMF character creation

No tags

Non-Magical-Folk, or NMF are just as important to the Wizarding world as magi are. They are guides and agents in the normal side of the world, who take care of Magi who have never been here while they visit. When magical breaches happen, they are the people who help fight from this side, and sometimes are even able to enter Vayle and help their magi-comrades with their special skills and talents.

Like magi, The NMF assigns dice to his six attributes in the same way, D20, D12, D10, D8, D6 and D4. Unlike Magi however, NMF do not get a magical dice naturally. They also do not get Magical stats naturally. These will always be listed as 0 on their character sheet. NMF Also do not record their Status like a magi does.

Unlike Magi who get wands and brooms to adjust their magic stat, NMF Can fill in 1 job and 1 Skill specialty. Under their Job, the NMF may select 2 attributes to get a +1 Bonus to. Under Skill, the NMF may select 1 attribute to get a +1 Bonus to. These should make sense.

Additionally, instead of having access to magical items and potions that can grant bonuses, NMF utilize tools and equipment to get bonuses. For example a police officer may have a handgun that grants him +2 to fight checks, perhaps a riot shield that grants +2 to grit checks, etc.

NMF Quick Creation List

1. Fill out the statistics on the top, such as your name, age, etc. Under status, list your position, such as Student, Police officer, doctor, etc.

2. Assign your 6 attributes with a dice to reflect your position in society.

3. Erase the broom information, and instead add in your job title, followed by what two bonuses it gives you to your stats, remembering that no stat at this point can have more than a +1.

4. Erase the wand information, and instead add in your expertise skill. Next to it add in what +1 it gives to your stat. This skill should reflect your job. For example, a doctor should have the Medical Treatment skill.

5. Erase Familiar and instead add in what vehicle you drive. this can be any civilian classed vehicle that you have the legality to own and drive. from Bycycles to an SUV. This is how you get around in the real world. NOTE: Non-Motorized vehicles are permitted in Vayle, Scooters, Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades etc.

6. You may take any strength that does not affect magic. If you do not see one, you can alter one to be non magical. For example:

Gifted: If you make a check involving the magic die that fails, you may spend 1at to reroll the magic die>

could be changed to:

Gifted: If you make a check involving your skill of expertise that fails, you may spend 1at to reroll your die.

7. You may take 2 flaws to gain up to 2 more +1s. these +1s may bring a stat bonus to a +2, but not a +3.

8. You may spend $400.00 in equipment and extra gear. If the equipment list is not completed by the time you make your character, you can buy these items, plus any additional money you make without needing a scene.
