Mythos, also known as The Keeper, is the Goddess who maintains society, ensuring people are born in the correct bodies and preventing things like a human child being born to elven parents. She is assisted in this task by Black, her gigantic cat companion.

The Unkept, souls who escaped the keeper and were thus born in a body of the wrong gender, race or even species, are hunted by the Black, who wishes to take their souls back to its mistress. As such, black cats are considered bad omens, as it means someone may die soon.

Priests of the Keeper generally concern themselves with keeping society running, counselling nobles and organizing festivals for the people. Many keep pets, like their patron deity. Priests of the Keeper may experiment on the Unkept using Transmutation, seeking to understand their deity through the dissonance between mind and body.

The Keeper is often asked for favours when life is not turning out as expected, such as when a woman remains unmarried or a man is unable to find work.
