Vanessa was inwardly fuming as she headed out of the Golden Lion and turned in the direction of the Xueris Estate.

"I wish people would stop interfering in Sir Ulric's happiness" she muttered as she trudged in the late evening snow. "Sending Beth a letter that he was breaking it off like that, that's low .... really low. In fact I'd call it really scummy."

"As for Lady Heritta, being suckered onto a ship by another forged letter, well I hope she's okay. This scry had better work"

By the time she reached House Xueris, it was getting very late. She explained the situation to the guard and was given an audience with the Night Chamberlain.

"I am afraid the people that would be helpful, assuming there has been foul play. are not available at this time Lady Vanessa. But I will pass your message on to Lord Sinder. If he wishes you to act, no doubt he will send you a message."

"Thank you. That is all I can ask at this time. But please do be discrete, I do not wish to alarm anyone"

"I am the Night Chamberlain m'lady. Discretion is part of the job description" He did sound a bit offended at that so Vanessa decided to beat a hasty exit. Little did she know she was not destined to return to House Kraken until just before sunup.

Both Vanessa Ursula Kraken and and Aldric Thornfield receive a missive, requesting them to attend the House Xueris, they may bring along anyone they deem might be useful for the investigation.
