Ominous Prophecies from the countryside

No tags

After witnessing the new caravan arriving on the outskirts of town and listening to the words of not so subtle doom from the blind child prophetess Sami will approach House Groas and attempt to perform some diplomacy, to see if they'd be willing to use their great storehouses to store extra food to account for the extra mouths that are expected to be coming into the city from the villages and towns on the outskirts.

Roll:
Sami Lee Atianna (Diplomacy): 12 = 1d20 [8] + 4
Edit by (): Had wrong SRR House typed in at first

If Sami intends to sail to Lucre to seek help, Melody, who also heard the prophecy of the Three Waves, will offer to go with him in order to ease the diplomatic wheels, being the daughter of the only mermaid on the ruling council in Sanctuary (the undersea Aventi village near Port Durina) who is also the diplomatic representative of the mer kingdom. (( Her other mother runs the Pearl Tower )). She will also suggest returning with Ambassador Aquana who is currently there, speaking with the village leaders about the sightings of sahuagan in local waters and their potential threat.

Could the sahuagan be the first wave from the sea that was prophesised?

The first wave of black from the sea

The second wave of green from the land

The third wave of red (( fire? ))

Alecto, hearing rumors of coming conflict, and additional prophecies by other holy folk, grimly preaches this confirms her earlier prophecies of coming war, and re-asserts her claims that violence and competition are the only constants in the world. She insists that people should align their lives accordingly, and revere the appropriate violent and predatory spirits.

A few peasants gather, handling rotten vegetables and shooting her nasty looks for her gloomy proclamations, but the Carrion Herald shoots them a scary look with blood red glowing eyes. . .

Roll:
Alecto (Intimidate): 22 = 1d20 [9] + 13 Scary Oracle of War

Sami's message to House Groas was at first received with some skepticism - blind prophetesses were not exactly their forte, and the religious beliefs of the Ecclesians did not hit home with the Silverites.

However, Sami pushed the issue not on the matter of faith, but rather of kindness. Fortunately, Lord Inuir was a generous man and at Sami's request quickly sent supplies to aid the refugees. He'd sort out any financial arrangements with the church after the people had eaten!

Meanwhile, rumours were going around about prophecies of doom, and church was especially full during services with people making sure they had their spiritual affairs in order.
