Rather surprisingly, Ulric Treny received a letter from Vanessa Kraken. It reads,

I have been pondering your situation and, if the worst comes to the worst, I suppose I could offer a solution to your dilemma that could satisfy your House Lord on the surface, but allow you to continue your chosen relationships as I expect I would be allowed to continue with mine.

The following day, a letter arrives for Vanessa Kraken from Ulric Treny. It reads:

Lady Vanessa,

I am in receipt of your most generous letter of offer and have been considering the terms laid out within. I am in agreement that it should be considered as a point of last resort as our personal options and opinions tend toward differing scales.

However I wish to state it is not an option that I am discarding at this point and time. I am currently meeting with the other ladies whose offers have been received, and will see how they go.

Once more, I thank you for your offer and I will keep you apprised as to the situation.
