Special mentor in regards to Fey to a mortal
A fairy godmother is a fey with magical powers who acts as a mentor or parent to a human, elf or half-elf, in the role that an actual godparent was expected to play in many societies. The Faerie Godmother often acts as a mentor to the Faerie Godchild, teaching them about the ways of nature and the Fey.
In certain special cases, the Fairy Godmother does not have to be a Fey by birth, but can become one by means of a mystical ritual, provided the Fairy Godmother meets the criteria: first, she must be a human, elf or half-elf. Other races are too far removed from Fey to allow for the transition, though certain races may qualify at the discretion of the DM. Secondly, she must be have a close connection to the Fey and a Fey sponsor to participate in the ritual. At a minimum, the character to become a Fairy Godmother must have access to druidic magic of third level or higher. Thirdly, she must have a godchild who possesses magical powers and who has a 'special' magical nature beyond a human, elf or half-elf. For example, a Half-Celestial Elf, an Elpha or an Elf Paragon.
The ritual involves forming a close bond with the magical nature of both the Fey sponsor and the magical nature of the godchild. These energies are woven together with the magic of the Fairy Godmother and infuse her with the powers of this template.
