The lowest rank of Jedi operatives, Jedi Padawans are assigned to a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master. Padawans are still learning, but do go on missions for the Jedi Council.

Also known as padawan learners, are deemed sufficiently trained and have enough knowledge of the world to be sent on minor missions without supervision. They still continue training under a formal master-apprentice bond.
