Located in the South Wing of Chinon Castle, the Embassy of the Night serves as the embassy for the Creatures of the Night of New York City.
Main Hall
The entrance of the embassy enters into a main hall with a tall roof and high chandeliers illuminating the area. The walls are filled with paintings of natural landscapes with fairy tale creatures in various positions of repose, and the floor features an elaborate abstract mosaic of different colors.
On the east side of the main entrance is a large dark stained glass window depicting several dark fairies or possibly kindred. The window does not lead outside, but rather there is an enclosed area behind it featuring lights, making it appear as if the outside is behind the window even though there isn't. The main entrance features doors leading to the Guest Room, Servants Quarter, Meeting Room and Office, as well as a stairway circling past the stained glass window, up to a small bridge leading to the Ambassadors Room. Notably, the stairway has no railing, making it somewhat hazardous.
Office
The ambassadors office is set up with a seating area near the door and a large oak desk further back. The leather chair is designed for someone large and important, making most occupants seem a bit smaller than they are. A stained glass window depicting a full moon is set on the right behind the desk, with a similar light feature as the one in the main hall.
On the left behind the desk and along the right wall are bookcases lined with leather bound tomes. Most of these Tomes contain various retellings of fairy tales, each in hand written manuscripts with decorated images that seem to move as you read the story, though never when you are actually looking.
The seating area consists of two comfortable leather sofa's with a coffee table between them, and a few plants are set in the corner to give a welcoming atmosphere. A cabinet contains glasses and decanters with liquids in various colours though lacking any labels, it is entirely unclear what they are.
Meeting Room
The meeting room is a medium sized room with a large table that can serve as a dining room or a place to meet and debate. The table and chairs provide ample room for each guest and have room behind them for any servant to walk and provide aid if needed.
The table legs as well as the three large chairs on each side have been carved to resemble tree trunks, with various forest creatures depicted in the woodwork carving. The seventh chair at the head of the table is similar to the others but has arms.
The walls of the room are set with low cabinets containing plates and dinner wears and utensils on one side, and paper, ink, quills and the likes on the other side. Above the cabinets are several paintings depicting night skies.
Ambassadors Rooms
The ambassadors rooms open in a small seating room with a large couch, two chairs and a small table. Opposite the entry is a door to the bedroom while on the right is an alcove that is closed off with a curtain. Behind the curtain is a heavy wooden door to the balcony which overlooks the forest, though it is quite a drop down as the castle goes to the edge of the hill here. The moon seems to be permanently visible from the balcony.
The bedroom features a large canopy bed with silk sheets and decorative woodwork depicting various muses, dryads, nymphs and similar fairy creatures. Besides the bed are two matching nightstands with a lantern on each side that seems to light up or dim on their own at appropriate times.
To the left of the bed is a tall cabinet containing the bedding, including extra pillows and blankets and opposite the bed, besides the entrance door is a fireplace, covered by a metal screen to block the view of the flames behind it.
To the right of the bed is a cabinet containing various grooming products, towels, and a porcelain bowl and decanter of water for washing. Besides the cabinet is the door to a walk-in closet containing the Ambassador's wardrobe. On the opposite side of the cabinet is a large standing full length mirror with golden decorative trim. Behind the mirror is the door to the bathroom.
The bathroom consists of a large copper bath, a wash table with running water and a cabinet with various towels. A hidden hatch opens up to behind the fireplace, allowing a kettle of water to be placed over the flames to heat up for a hot bath. Notably, no privy area is available. The bathroom also features a large mirror and various paintings and decorations depicting mermaids.
Throughout the ambassadors rooms the ceiling has been painted to depict the night sky, showing stars, nebula and various celestial creatures.
Guest Rooms
The guest rooms comprise mainly of a comfortable room with two fluffy beds with several pillows each, a cabinet with additional bedding set to the left of it. The room also features an ornate writing desk with chair and a seating area consisting of a comfortable leather chair and matching couch set around a small table.
A tall dark oak cabinet provides room for two sets of clothes and personal effects and the inside of the door is set with a full length mirror.
The guest rooms also feature a side room with a large wooden tub and a wash table with running water, as well as a smaller mirror, and includes a privy area.
The decorations in the guest room - including several paintings, decorative images on the ceiling and mosaics in the floor - always seem to have been adjusted to the guest.
Currently, the Guest Rooms are occupied by Lady Ségolène.
Servant's Quarters
The Servant's Quarters consist of a simple dining room area with several hard chairs, a board with various bells that can be rung from above to alert the servants they are needed in one of the other rooms.
From the dining room there is a hall with various small rooms on each side. Each servant room is a little over 2 meter squared and feature a bed, a chest and a small table and chair, taking up most of the area.
All in all the servants quarters have room for roughly eight attendants and staff, which currently consist of a few maids from the Nightmare Queen's court who keep the Embassy clean.
