This week we worked on improving the Pathfinder bonus system, as well as an important technical upgrade of how game system configuration is handled. A few bug fixes round out the week.
This week's blog post is on the topic of Link Deduplication, a more technical post to explain why we are upgrading RPGpads link handling.
Pathfinder: Magic Items
- We have added rings, staffs, rods, and wondrous items. This completes the addition of magic items for the moment.
- The Core Rulebook's rings, staffs, rods, and wondrous items have been added to all campaigns. All of these items provide appropriate bonuses where they are supported.
- Having multiple items on the same slot will now produce a warning, except rings which do not warn until you use 3.
- It is now possible to apply bonuses to 'all ability checks', rather than requiring a bonus to each individual ability score's check.
- There is now an option to apply bonus to a set of skills such as all skills using a certain ability score or every single skill. This is essentially a shorthand for adding the bonus to each skill automatically, one which also applies correctly if you add new skills later.
- Notes that sub-skills (i.e. Knowledge: Arcana and Knowledge: Dungeoneering for Knowledge) were already supported as and remain as they are
- Trait names on the character sheet can no longer be formatted. This was not being used and the formatting in the text prevented the correct matching of traits to apply bonusses.
- Added improved checks for sheet invalidation after changing traits, with a focus on equipment and bonusses.
General
- The game system configuration options for the current game system are now displayed in a separate section in the configuration overview. This helps everyone to find the options they want to update most often, as well as allowing us to improve the game system configuration options even further.
- A lot of background work on how game system configuration is organized, little of which is observable as a player in a campaign. However, these changes are necessary to further improve the way the game system configuration is handled.
- Improved checks when changing weapons and armour data vs validity of character sheets
- If a sheet is outdated on multiple issues, display of those issues has been cleaned up
Fixed Bugs
- (Community report) Fixed all d20 damage rolls to correctly have a minimum of at least 1 damage. This fixes the issue with damage rolls like ``2d6-4`` coming up zero, all historical dice rolls have been corrected to display their correct minimum damage.
- Fixed a bug that caused all Schema activity feeds to fail when a schema was updated while wikipages were already using it. This has now been fixed, and the schema RSS feed works again.
- Fixed a bug on the pathfinder character sheet that caused duplication of automatic bonuses to hit points or run modifier. This has been fixed.
- Fixed a layout bug that caused visual chaos when switching a campaign to the World of Darkness game system. Order has been restored.
- Fixed issue that prevented the trait categories from shwoing up properly when editing a pathfinder character sheet. This has been fixed, an categories are visible once again.
- Fixed pathfinder data to make sure Boots of Elvenkind give the correct bonus.
- Fixed a bug on the pathfinder character sheet where Arcane Spell Failure from armour was being used for Arcane Spell Failure from shields. This has been fixed so that this confusion no longer occurs.
- Fixed a rare bug where the pathfinder character sheet would erroneously add bonuses if a non-magic item had the same name as a magic item (or vice versa).
- Fixed bug that caused creating a new World of Darkness campaign without preloads (or switching to WoD campaigns without a preload) to preventing the creation of new characters. It is now once more possible to ignore the preloads when creating a campaign.
- Fixed an odd situation that occurred when a World of Darkness creature type had an empty name. Empty names are no longer allowed.
