This week we worked on your feedback and several other issues that needed fixing or tweaking. The results of all this work can be seen in the long list below :)
This week's blog post highlights some of the reported issues and how we want about them: Processing your Feedback 2.
Pathfinder System
- (Community Suggestion) When editing the character sheet, it is no longer possible to accidentally hit the 'remove this skill' button when trying to get to the skill details. The Remove Skill button has been moved inside the details view to prevent mishaps.
- Polished all removal buttons in the Pathfinder system configuration to make sure that they have consistent placement. This makes the configuration a little easier to manage.
Chat: Initiative Tracker
- (Community Suggestion) Added the current character and player to the call for the start of round 1. This should help clarify who starts off the encounter.
- Updated the initiative callout to always include the intiative token that gets the turn, as well as the one that's up next.
- (Community Suggestion) Switched callout order from 'player (character)' to 'character (player)'. This improves consistency with other parts of the site where character goes first, as well as more clearly indentifying which NPC receives the turn.
- Clarified the interface of the custom token feature to indicate that it uses the given fixed initiative as if it were the result of a roll.
- Added a free-form initiative roll to the Pathfinder free-form rolls. By setting the NPC name for the free-form roll it is now possible to roll initiative for antagonists and other NPCs.
Chat
- Improved the display of temporary rooms in the chat archive index. Temporary rooms now only show a listing of rooms with that name if there were multiple rooms with a given name, otherwise they will be displayed as a normal room.
- (Community Suggestion) The private conversation listing in the sidebar is now removed when the convo is closed. This was originally intended as a feature, but caused more confusion than benefit, so the behaviour has been changed to synchronize the sidebar and the list of open conversations.
- Add a 'No active conversations' marker to the private conversations section if there are no active conversations. This helps clarify what is going on in the interface.
Dice Roller
- The natural one and natural twenty rolled in d20 attack checks is now indicated by 'nat 1' and 'nat 20' instead of '1!' and '20!' to clarify what's happening. This should make recognizing natural 1's a little easier.
- (Community Suggestion) Custom d20 attack rolls now support attack sequences, so you can roll +15/+10/+5 without having to enter the same damage and crit information every time. This should make it much easier to run combats with antagonists with multiple attacks, or with several antagonists that have the same attacks.
- It is now possible to add a custom NPC name to the free-form rolls, which makes it easier to recognize rolls for familiars or NPCs. For players this option is available by hitting the
...
button next to the Note field for a free-form roll, for game master we always show the field because they are more likely to need it.- The custom NPC name is also autocompleted on a per-room basis, from names you have previously used on free-form rolls since joining the room. Leaving the room or refreshing resets the list, to prevent old NPC names and such from lingering around.
- The pathfinder free-form rolls now include an initiative roll. When rolled with a custom NPC name, the initiative tracker picks this roll up like any other initiative roll.
Minor Tweaks
- Tweaked the way breadcrumbs are displayed when viewing versions of archived wiki pages and character sheets. The new breadcrumbs display gives the same information in a slightlty more condensed manner and adds an 'Archive' breadcrumb that links back to the archive for the page or sheet version you are looking at.
- Adjusted the character overview for visual balance when no grouping is applied; this now shows "Your Characters" and "Other Characters" instead of placing all other characters directly on the background.
- Adjusted the way the 'New player character...' button is placed and displayed. This will be re-adjusted in the coming week to make a better distinction between having no player characters, and having one or more.
Fixed Bugs
- Fixed a bug that crashed RSS feeds from threads with special markers such as (&next) in them (which makes little sense at the moment). This has been fixed so they correctly display the marker instead of crashing.
- Fixed a bug that caused RSS feeds from threads with (( inline OOC )) to display that text as if it was a special marker. This has been fixed, and your RSS feeds should now correctly display the inline OOC remark.
- Fixed a bug in the pathfinder initiative tracker that caused the creation of custom initiative tokens with an empty fixed initiative to produce tokens without an initiative score at all, crashing the initiative tracker for everyone in the room. This has been fixed to prevent this situation from occuring.
- Fixed a bug that caused a crash in all chat room archives for chat rooms without visible messages; as a side-effect this bug also prevented reading the full archive for certain rooms. This bug has been fixed, and you can now navigate to all chat room archives.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Wanted Pages listing for the wiki to crash when certain links where pointing to pages in that wiki.
