This week we worked on improving RPGpad's support for chat roleplay and the Pathfinder game system, with a focus on customization and administrative tasks. In this week's blog post we elaborate on the Customization vs Complexity issue.

Chat

• Added the Time Spans overview as part of the chat activity pages. The Time Spans shows which players and characters were active together in the last 2 weeks.
  • The Time Spans page is available to moderators and character sheet admins.
  • A link to the Time Spans can be found via the Recent Activity page of the Chat and in the Menu when on chat pages (use the "Show Menu" button in the chat to reveal the additional options in the menu).

• If the campaign is running the Pathfinder game system, the time spans can be used to grant awards for chat roleplays and adventures.

Pathfinder

• Added support for custom fields to the pathfinder game system configuration. The custom fields are configured under Houserules, and shown on character sheets in the character sheet header.

• Gold can now be entered on the character sheet, and Net Value (total value of all items + gold) is automatically calculated.

• Added the Weekly income house rule, which can be toggled in the game system configuration. If enabled, the Job and Income fields will become available on the character sheet. Additionally, a new "Administrative Actions" section will be avialble to character sheet admins (all game masters, by default) in the character overview.

• The Traits houserule has been implemented and traits can now be added in the Other section of the game system configuration. If the house rule is active, traits can be be added to the character sheet.

• Armour stats are now automatically calculated based on the stats for equipped armour and shield, instead of being entered separately

• Armour and encumbrance information is moved to the equipment section.

• The Max Dex display for armour is adjusted to better handle the empty state. This improves the readability of sheets that are still a work in progress.

• Each Spellcasting section on the character sheet now displays Caster Level which sums Base Caster Level + bonus levels from prestige classes.

• The Spell Resistance field on the sheet was restyled since all other fields in that area were moved to other places.

• Basic Sheet verification has been added. This is not done yet, but some checks are already implemented. More will follow in the future.

Fixed Bugs

• Removed spurious drag handle from Pathfinder configuration's languages list. The list is automatically alphabetized on every save, so reordering the languages has no purpose.

• Change the autocomplete suggestion highlight color to match the theme's box background color. This improves the legibility of the highlighted autocomplete suggestion in certain themes.

• Fixed a minor styling issue in the Spells per Day and Spells Known matrices. This has been fixed, and they now display the same as all other input fields.

• Fixed a layout issue on the Pathfinder character sheet when not using the ability points buy houserule that upset vertical rhythm. This has been fixed, and the vertical rhytm has been restored.

• Fixed a minor styling issue in the Pathfinder game system Equipment configuration. This has been fixed and the input fields now match the surrounding fields.
