This week we worked on several open issues, added improved diagnostics to help pinpoint issues, and rewrote part of the help pages. Additionally, we added a new houserule to World of Darkness campaigns, and we worked on improving both World of Darkness and Pathfinder.

This week's blog post highlights the new extra fields feature recently added to World of Darkness character sheets: Extra Fields.

World of Darkness

• Added a new house rule to switch Backgrounds handling from configurable automatic listing to fully custom. If the "Unmanaged Backgrounds" house rule is in effect, the character sheet will not have an automatic Backgrounds entry allowing you to handle it yourself by adding one or more extra fields.

Help

• Updated the schema help (found in your campaign's help, or in the community campaign) texts to have greater clarity, and to be more task oriented.

• Added updating previews to the available field types listing in the schema help page. This helps with getting a feeling for how each field type is entered and displayed on wiki pages without having to change a schema just to see if it works for your campaign.

• The schema help page now shows a clear notice if the requirement to have the Engineer role. If you do not have the role, a link to the player listing is added as well to help find someone who is an Engineer.

Diagnostics

• Added an "Error details" button to the error popup if applicable. The error details contain diagnostic information that can help us pinpoint and fix the issue faster!

Fixed Bugs

• Fixed a bug in the Chat that caused some players to not receive updates for the Player list in certain browsers and configurations. This has been fixed now, and all players should receive the player list when joining the chat.

• Fixed a bug that caused the chat to note that there is an error while switching mask, while still switching your mask regardless. This was caused by a bug in the dice roller. This has been fixed, but we have temporarily disabled virtue rolls, willpower rolls, and background rolls to do so. These will be restored in the coming weeks.

• Fixed a layout bug causing the "unread" marker to be placed directly against the "Guest posts welcome" note in the forums listing.
