Behold, the changelog for this week contains several quality of life upgrades for everyone! We have implemented previews, the viewing of differences, and the ability to revert to old versions of wiki pages.

We also fixed an annoyance where hitting the Enter key would sometimes suddenly submit your changes. The Enter key now behaves smartly in places where it makes sense, and does not trip you up anymore.

Global

• We now warn you when you are about to lose your changes, for example by closing a tab with an edit screen open. This gives you the opportunity to retain your current edits and saving them.

• Every long formatted text field can now be previewed. This means that you can preview your forum posts, character sheet notes, wikipage texts, private messages, and so on. To preview a text, click the "Preview" button just above the text bar. To get back to editing, switch it back to "Edit" with the same button.

Global Account Profiles

• Account profiles have been reworked to show additional information: for each campaign you can now see what roles the person holds for that campaign, as well as their characters in that campaign.

• Account profiles now feature a handy "Send Message" action that immediately takes you to writing a new message with the recipient already filled in.

• You can now add a custom text to your account profile that will be displayed on your public profile page. You can put whatever you like there, and everyone will be able to read it when they visit your account profile page.

Wiki

• Wikipages can now be reverted to restore old versions. This helps when you accidentally edit or remove (part of) the page when you didn't mean to do that. To revert a page, simply view the version you want to recover and use the "Revert" button.
  • Reverting a moved wikipage does not move them back to their old location. However you can undo a move simply by moving them back manually.

• You can now view differences between any version and the current version of the wiki page. To do so, view the versions listing of a page and use the "Show Differences" link to go to the difference page for that version and the current version.
  • You can technically view differences between any two versions of the same wikipage, but to do so you will have to copy-paste the version identifiers from the URLs of the specific versions to build a custom differences URL.

• Tweaked the page header for simple pags to show "No tags" when they do not have any tags, this clarifies the situation a little better while at the same time not cluttering the header.

• Galleries are now sorted by exhibit title in both the page display and the page editor. This makes it easier to find an exhibit in your gallery when you have a lot of them.

• Gallery images now link to their full-size version. So you can click on any image in the gallery to get the full size view of that image, which makes the gallery act much more like a gallery, and helps you to show off clothing, items and other things while at the table.

Forms

• Forms no longer auto-submit when you hit the Enter key in some fields. We discovered that some fields save/update/post when pressing Enter while others did not. This was very annoying and lead to several incomplete edits and posts. So we changed this. You now have to explicitly click the blue save/edit/post button.

• Several forms have gained smart handling of the Enter key to allow you to continue typing while entering information, when entering data into lists this even extends the list automatically. Examples of this are private message recipients (enter goes to the next recipient), tags and aliases of wikipages, affiliations of a person, etc.
  • If you find a place where you expect the Enter key to do something smart and it does not, please let us know!

Special Features

• You can use some of the images from RPGpad more easily on external sites, and can also cross-link them into other places on RPGpad by using special gallery image URLs. The normal image URLs still work and will continue to work, but specifically for galleries we found that those URLs were not very friendly.
  • Each gallery exhibit that has a title and an image will now have a special URL that you can get by viewing the gallery, right-clicking on the image you want and using "Copy Link Location". These are more easily understood when pasting them into the forum or somewhere else.

Bugs

• Fixed bug that prevented viewing of a message box if a message from another user, and with a campaign context, was present in the box. Now you can view all message boxes without hindrance.

• Fixed a bug that left out the scope part of a link (the part before the '>') when editing the front page and that scope could not be resolved to an existing link scope (such as a wiki or forum). This works correctly now, and your links are no longer forgetting part of themselves when editing the front page.

• Fixed a bug that prevented the Versions view of a wiki page to show the list of "Other pages that were listed here before". Now, when you look at the version of a wiki page you will again get a list of other pages that used the same name — such as removed and moved pages — at some earlier point in time.

• The overly long "For formatting options see the help page on formatting." message above each text editor has been changed to a simple "Formatting help" link. This conveys the same meaning, but does not break the layout of narrow 3-column text editor usage such as on the character sheets.

• Fixed formatted text table layout bug that made tables not have any spacing between them and the next piece of text. This makes tables in several places look much better.
