Changelog 2018-12-07

This week brings both improvements for the search, discussed in this week's blog post Searching tiger, hidden form update; as well as the long-expected rework of all forms, which will be discussed in next week's blog post!

  • Each search result now shows where it was found. For example, a page in the setting wiki will be shown as "Setting » That page". Furthermore, the "That page" part will show the actual matched name for pages that have multiple names, which helps clarify why there is an "Edna" in your "po" results.
  • The search bar now understand filtering by tag by using #tagname in your search. This makes it much easier to quickly find what you are looking for. For example, you could search for "#servant jack" and get all servants named jack.
  • In the same vein, the search bar also understands limiting your search to some area of the campaign by using @scope. Currently supported are @setting, @rules, @notes, @characters, and @forums. For now you'll have to write out the whole name, but this will change in the future.
  • Character sheets have been added to the search results. This way you can quickly find a character wherever you are in the campaign site.
  • We have made several improvements to search performance. This helps to get you your results faster, which means that you'll have to wait less, spend less time looking things up, and therefore have more time to play the game.

Other

  • All forms have received an overhaul, more on this next week!
  • Recipients for private messages are now given separate input boxes. Previously, there was a big text field into which you had to put all names. Now, there is a clear interface that allows you to easily add and remove recipients from the message without having to think about newlines and other details.
  • Vampire the Masquerade character sheet editing has changed a little. The house rules affecting abilities are integrated a little better, preventing you from accidentally removing a sub-ability or toggling the favoured status of an ability. This allows for quicker and less error-prone sheet editing.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug with the custom game system that prevented the actual creation of character sheets within the system. Our earlier fix to allow campaign creation with the custom system again was not enough to solve the issue. Now everything works again for custom game systems!
