Changelog 2018-11-16

This week we built a feature we missed for a long time: private message replies. We have also worked on a pair of improvements and squashed a few bugs.

The forum posting experiment is still ongoing. After posting your post should be visible. This time without the post you just wrote also showing up in the reply box. Let us know if this improves things for you!

Messages

  • You can now reply to private messages! Private messages now remember that they are a reply, and when reading your messages the history of messages before the one you are reading is displayed as well. This helps keep track of the side-conversations you might have with dungeon masters and other players.

Other Improvements

  • Password changes now always require you to enter your new password twice. Earlier, anyone walking up to your computer could change your RPGpad account password if you were logged in. Now, they cannot do that anymore.
  • You can now change the URL of your campaign. To do so, visit your campaign's configuratio, update the Title, and check the "Update URL" box. Note changing the campaign URL also means that old bookmarks no longer point to the right place, and that RSS feeds might stop working until people also update them. We advise using this only if you made a typo or really want to rename your campaign.

Bugs

  • You can no longer revoke already-used invitations. Previously, you would get a very nice "Revoke invitation" button even for invitations that were already accepted or revoked. Clicking this shiny button would then give you an error that the invitation was already revoked... We removed that button.
  • Slight tweak to forum-posting experiment. We might a small update to the forum posting experiment, which should improve things for Firefox users. This is an ongoing thing, so if it does not work for you please let us know!
  • The campaign home page no longer shows "Leave campaign" button. We removed this button, since it is really weird to have a campaign home page where one of the two main actions is to actually leave the campaign. Of course people can still leave if they want, the "Leave Campaign" button is still available in the Players overview.
